    Fall Fruit and Vegetable Guide

September 29, 2020 by Andrea Marincovich, R.D. Leave a Comment

Purchasing in season fresh fruits and vegetables will ensure that you never overpay and that they are optimal in taste. Here’s your Fall Fruit and Vegetable Guide.

    Fall Fruit and Vegetable Guide

Happy Fall y’all! As much as I love Summer, Fall is always the best change and SO needed in 2020. Cooler weather, comfy jackets, comfort food and P.U.M.P.K.I.N. Fall is the season for every kind of lettuce, dark leafy green, cabbage family, orange veggie, apple and pear – oh my! To help you navigate the season and make the best of what is available to you, here is your Fall Fruit and Vegetable Guide. Scroll down to the bottom and there is an infographic with the same information that’s listed below, you can save the image on your phone or download as a file to print, it’s up to you. 🙂

Confession: I am wholeheartedly and utterly obsessive with everything pumpkin. In fact, ever since I was a little girl I had pumpkin pie as my “birthday cake” every November. I guess when you know, you know. There is zero shame in my pumpkin game. As much as I could go on and on about pumpkin, there are so many other fresh fruit and vegetable gems that are now in season. I can’t wait to bring you some new Fall recipes and meal ideas so that you can learn how utilize these amazing in season fruits and vegetables.

Remember that the key to smart grocery shopping is to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season so that you never spend more than you should. The produce will also be at their peak in regards to taste, look and feel. If you want to preserve them to last all year round you can freeze, can, or turn them into a jam!  Expert tip for freezing: cut up/prepare the fruit or vegetable in the way that you would use them to allow for easier consumption and use when you thaw them out.

    Hi, I'm Andrea!

I’m a Registered Dietitian from Orange County, CA.  Nutrition is my number one obsession in life and nothing rocks my world more than helping others by sharing my passion with them. I’m a true California girl! So when I’m not Dietitianing, you’ll find me in a body of water or on a dirt trail, always rockin’ a sweet pair of shades (because eye health is important too), and playing my favorite tunes. If I’m not there, there’s a 100% chance I’m snugglin’ with my fur baby, Stella!
